Finding Motivation...again...

How do you get motivated for a race? Especially when you haven't ran in a while. For most runners, it's in their blood. They can go run at the drop of a hat and get ready for a race. It's usually about about a PR. But for others, it may take a while to get motivated.

I haven't ran in a few months, since February. I did a few jogs now and then, but realizing I have a race in September, and haven't been wanting to run in a while. I know, bad. So when thinking about this small problem, I thought of ways to motivate me.

1) Just do it- Sometimes just lacing up and going out the front door is what is needed. After a few minutes of reluctant running, then the juices start flowing, and you can usually  hit your stride.

2) Run with a buddy- Find a running buddy. It's a time honored tradition. Get that buddy to help you get back on the road, trail, running path.

3) Train someone- Wait, don't call me crazy! If you like running, like I occasionally do, then eventually one of your friends will get inspired. Or try to get a medal of their own. In that case, even a 5K will be a good way to get back on the road yourself. What, you ran all those races, you going to let your friend try to catch up to you? Helping them get into running shape is a good way to get back into running.

These are just some ways to get back into running shape and find your motivation. Feel free to add your own way....
